Naming Days

Congratulations! You have a child and now you want to show them to the world. Rightly so. Kids are amazing, magical miniature humans with brains like sponges soaking up everything and anything around them. How fantastic for them to be surrounded by love, celebration, and kindness.

The beauty of a celebrant led Naming Day Ceremony is that you are free to hold the celebration anywhere, including at home, in the park or a function room or pub. It is also popular to combine them with other events such as birthday parties or weddings.

I can help you craft a wonderful ceremony with many unique elements. I can write personal parent’s promises. Grandparent’s promises, and it is the perfect opportunity for you to appoint special persons, Godparents, or fairy Godparents. These specially appointed chosen loved ones can make pledges to stay in your child’s life guiding them and being there for them as they grow. It can really be quite a stunning ceremony.

Many people choose to keep to the traditional structure of a christening but in a less religious venue. Naming days are an alternative ceremony for a christening. They are for every kind of family to celebrate the love of a baby, child or adopted child into their inner circle without the rigid structure of a religious church service.

They provide a way to reflect your values and beliefs in a meaningful and loving way for your family. I will spend time with you and find out exactly what you want from your ceremony and endeavour to make a truly spectacular and memorable day for you. I can help with poems and readings, music, and symbolic actions. Sand ceremonies are great for naming days as are candle lighting and certificate signing for the Godparents. I am very happy to include a memorial for any missing loved ones. This is always a really special element of any ceremony as it gives you time to remember, appreciate and honour your absent cherished beloved.

I will write a bespoke personal ceremony centred around you, your child, and your family. Whatever your vision I can help you and guide you with it. I will tailor the order of service to include everyone making for a truly magical day.

Stanley's Naming Day

For my son Stanleys naming day I had all the girls in my dart team dress in white and when they turned up to the venue I gave them all fairy wings, wands, and flower crowns. They looked amazing and I had a witch help them bless Stanley with health, wealth, Happiness, and joy. We had pasties and music and so much laughter it was one of the best days ever. The guests were blown away and said It was the most unique thing they had ever seen. Where did I get the idea? My head of course. I had a vision of what I wanted, and made it happen. The landlady let me decorate the pub exactly as I wanted, and it looked spectacular. Nine fairy godmothers a witch, beautiful twinkling fairy lights beautiful balloons, cake. Adoring parents (me and Ol) Food, drink. It was a veritable extravaganza! And of course the little man himself, beautiful Stanley, the star of the show, all dressed in the finest silk money could buy (from eBay)
